      About the Vineyard

There are a number of great resources on the Web that describe all of the great places to see, things to do and ways to get to Martha's Vineyard. Below are several links to sites that we think you might find valuable to help you with your visit, whether you are a first-time visitor or are returning to the island.

If you have any suggestions for additional links, please contact us.

MVOL (Martha's Vineyard On-Line)

This site includes a number of great resources, including information about the various means of getting to and from the Vineyard, information about organizing weddings and other events, and so on.

Martha's Vineyard Chamber of Commerce

This is a nice site containing maps and photos of the Vineyard. It is a nice way to familiarize yourself with the sites of MV.

The Steamship Authority

Wonder how to get to the Vineyard? Most people take the ferry from Woods Hole. THe Steamship Authority operates ferry service to and from the island from this location. Visit the site for information about car reservations, schedules and such things.

The Vineyard Fast Ferry

Tired of driving? Take the Fast Ferry! This high-speed ferry travels from Quonset Point, south of Providence to Oak Bluffs during the Summer. It takes about 1 1/2 hours and saves travelers considerable time. It offers transportation from Providence Airport (additional charge).

Craftworks

Our dear friends, Paula and Ron, operate Craftworks, a gallery of American artists and craftspeople. Craftworks is located on Circuit Avenue in Oak Bluffs. If you have been to the Vineyard before, you have most likely visited their shop. If this will be your first visit, you must stop by and view their collection of items, including a wide range of jewelry, furniture by Sticks and a whole lot more.
