Photo Tour
The following photographs should give you a sense of the design
and appointments of our house. However, a little background is in
order here.
The house was originally built as a Cape Cod style home. In
2000-2001, the previous owners decided to completely redesign the
house, adding a floor, including three bedrooms and two bathrooms.
More importantly, the owners included a number of Moroccan design
elements, which give this house its unique character today.
In her book, New Moroccan Style (Clarkson/Potter,
2003), Susan Sully writes of the House at Dragonfly Woods,
"Rustic beams now support a soaring ceiling in the living
room. Massive carvings from a Moroccan doorway combine with a
salvaged mantel to create a monumental fireplace. Casement windows
from demolished Martha's Vineyard structures replace the House's
original crank-out windows. The interior walls, once clad in cheap
wood paneling, have been stripped and resurfaced with
sunflower-yellow tadlekt."
From bathroom sink details to vaulted ceilings to glazed
finishes on the walls, the House at Dragonfly Woods is one of a
kind.
